Description

Fine golden lines, curved into a small ceremony of their own.

This vintage Kigu cigarette case exchanges the usual flat silhouette for a rounded, cylindrical form. Unlike an end-opening tube, it opens lengthways along a hinged spine, revealing two curved interior halves. Closely spaced lines sweep across the exterior, framed by contrasting textured borders and smooth gold-tone edges. The restrained decoration lets the shape do the storytelling, a pocket accessory with an almost architectural presence.

The interior edge bears the KIGU name and English manufacture wording. Its warm metallic colour is described as gold-tone: the base metal and exact surface treatment have not been established, and no precious-metal content is claimed.

The Particulars

  • Maker: Kigu, with KIGU marking photographed inside
  • Origin: Made in England marking
  • Type: Vintage cylindrical cigarette case
  • Construction: Lengthways-opening hinged clamshell with curved interior halves
  • Exterior: Fine linear pattern with contrasting textured border bands
  • Finish: Gold-tone metal; exact composition and surface treatment unconfirmed
  • Condition: Used vintage condition, with visible interior wear and localised finish loss
  • Date: Exact production date unconfirmed
  • Included: Case only; photographic props excluded

The exterior remains richly coloured, with light scratches, small marks, and rubbing visible around the rims and fittings. Inside, the wear is more noticeable: both halves show scattered dark spots, scratches, uneven colouring, and localised worn patches in the finish. One half has a broader irregular discoloured area, while the other shows a darker scuffed patch. These are part of this example's condition and are shown in the close-up photographs.

The case is photographed open and closed; clasp holding strength and hinge security have not been independently tested. Dimensions and cigarette capacity have not been established, so suitability for a particular cigarette length cannot be promised.

A handsome curved relic for the collector who notices the shape before the shine. Carefully nestled in its treasure coffin, a vault relic from Vaen’kai Vault.
