Vintage Stratton Spaniel Dog Compact, Cream Enamel, Gold-Tone, Original Packaging, No Puff
Description
There are compacts, and then there are compacts with a dog on them.
This one belongs to a very specific kind of person: the one who considers a spaniel on the mantelpiece entirely reasonable decor, who has strong opinions about breed standards, and who would absolutely carry a powder compact featuring a textured gold and silver spaniel appliqué caught mid-trot across a cream enamel lid without a single moment of hesitation.
The body is rectangular gold-tone Stratton, fine engine-turned reeded lines running across the reverse in that quietly confident way that mid-century British vanity manufacture did better than almost anyone. The dog is the point. But the compact is no afterthought.
Original packaging included. Sifter present. No puff, which is, frankly, the least interesting thing about it.
