Sterling Silver 925 Open Torc Cuff Bracelet, Sculptural Molten Teardrop Terminals, Adjustable, Modernist Minimalist, Hallmarked 925
Description
Sterling silver. Two drops of mercury, caught mid-fall.
A 925 sterling silver open torc cuff bracelet in a clean modernist form: a round-section wire that curves into a smooth open cuff silhouette, tapering as it arcs and swelling at each end into a pair of elongated teardrop terminals. The terminals are the whole point of this piece. Organic, rounded, slightly irregular in surface, they read as something hand-formed or cast rather than machined: shapes that look like liquid silver caught at the moment before it landed. One terminal angles slightly inward, one slightly outward, giving the piece an asymmetric sculptural quality that distinguishes it from the uniform finishes of mass production.
The wire has generous flex at the opening, allowing the cuff to be adjusted to the wrist and worn close or loose. The silver carries a soft lived-in patina, darker in the concave recesses of the terminals, brighter on the arc of the wire. Hallmarked 925 to the neck of one terminal.
