Vintage Sterling Silver Heptagram Pendant Necklace, Seven-Pointed Star, Oxidised Antiqued Finish, Framed Septagram, Snake Chain, Stamped 925, Elven Star, Esoteric Symbol
Description
Seven points. Seven crossings. One continuous path.
The heptagram is drawn without lifting the pen: a single continuous line crossing itself seven times to form a seven-pointed star, each arm passing over and under the others at the centre in a woven knot. It is one of the oldest continuous-line geometric symbols in existence, appearing across Kabbalistic tradition, classical planetary symbolism, Wiccan and esoteric practice, Fae and fairy lore, and Thelemic mysticism where it is known as the Star of Babalon. Seven is the number of classical planets, of days in the week, of musical notes. The symbol carries that weight without requiring explanation to the person who already knows it.
This pendant renders the heptagram in cast sterling silver, the star enclosed within a plain circular frame that grounds the design and gives it a coin-like solidity. The finish is oxidised and antiqued, the recesses between the star arms darkened to near-black, the raised faces of each arm left brighter, the contrast giving the piece a depth and relief that a plain polished finish would not have. The 925 mark is stamped clearly on the reverse at the centre of the star. The chain is a fine snake chain with a spring ring clasp, the segment construction visible in the close-up, smooth and well-suited to the pendant weight.
