Description

A little procession of leaves and curling tendrils, framed in silver and softened by time.

This Swedish panel bracelet sets sculpted, ivy-like leaves and spiral stems within articulated rectangular frames. Light passes through the openwork, picking out the raised leaf veins and polished edges against darker recesses. Smooth connecting links lend the botanical panels a pleasingly architectural rhythm.

The clasp carries a compact group of punches. Existing research records the Swedish three-crowns mark, an S punch, a date code read as D8, a town mark read as M, and a maker or sponsor mark appearing CD&Co. The bracelet is identified by the seller as dating to 1930. That date is retained with the recorded hallmark reading qualified; a precise silver fineness, town, and maker identity have not been established here. It is offered as Swedish silver, not specifically as sterling.

The Particulars

  • Origin: Sweden, according to the seller’s identification and recorded hallmark research
  • Date attribution: 1930; existing notes record a date punch read as D8, subject to confirmation
  • Type: Articulated rectangular panel bracelet
  • Decoration: Raised ivy-like leaves, engraved leaf veins, and curled tendrils within openwork frames
  • Metal: Silver, as catalogued; precise fineness unconfirmed
  • Recorded marks: Three crowns, S, D8, M, and a maker or sponsor mark appearing CD&Co; readings qualified
  • Fastening: Folding clasp with attached safety chain
  • Condition: Vintage surface wear, fine scratches, and darker patina in recesses
  • Included: Bracelet with attached safety chain; photographic props excluded

The photographs show fine scratches and rubbing to the panel borders, leaf surfaces, connecting links, and clasp. Darker areas remain behind the openwork and around the tendrils, giving depth to the design. The reverse and clasp also show small marks and localised discolouration. These are visible signs of age and handling rather than a claim of pristine condition.

The bracelet is shown both open and fastened, with its safety chain present. Clasp holding strength and chain integrity have not been independently tested. No wrist size or measurements are inferred from the photographs.

A botanical wrist relic for a keeper drawn to northern silver, quiet ornament, and leaves that never quite surrender to winter. Carefully nestled in its treasure coffin, a vault relic from Vaen’kai Vault.
