Description

A small harvest circles the wrist, its leaves and fruit emerging from shadow.

This Swedish silver bangle carries a richly raised band of botanical decoration between smooth narrow borders. Grapes, ivy-like leaves, rose-like blooms, and grain-like sprays gather across the surface, their polished high points contrasting with darker recesses. A smooth interior offers a quieter counterpoint to the abundance outside.

Although catalogued as a cuff, this is an opening, hinged bangle with a tongue-style fastening and an attached safety chain. A small shaped tag on the chain bears punches, with further markings visible on the fastening tongue. Existing notes record Swedish three crowns, a date code read as A9, and a maker or sponsor mark appearing S&Co. The notes associate that date reading with 1951; the readings and date attribution remain subject to closer verification, and the maker is not assigned here. The bracelet is offered as Swedish silver, with precise fineness unconfirmed, not specifically as sterling.

The Particulars

  • Origin: Sweden, according to the seller’s identification and recorded hallmark research
  • Date attribution: 1951, from the existing notes’ A9 reading, subject to confirmation
  • Form: Hinged, opening bangle rather than an adjustable open cuff
  • Decoration: Raised grapes, ivy-like leaves, rose-like blooms, scrolls, and grain-like sprays
  • Metal: Silver, as catalogued; precise fineness unconfirmed
  • Recorded marks: Swedish three crowns, A9, and a mark appearing S&Co; readings qualified
  • Fastening: Tongue-style closure with attached safety chain and shaped stamped tag
  • Condition: Vintage surface wear, scratches, and darker patina in the relief
  • Included: Bangle with attached chain and tag; photographic props excluded

Close-ups show fine scratches, rubbing to the raised motifs and borders, and darker areas within the decoration. The interior has visible surface marks and uneven toning. Around the fastening tongue there is concentrated mottled discolouration and an uneven surface appearance; its cause and any past repair history are unconfirmed. These areas are shown in the detailed photographs rather than described as a pristine finish.

The bangle is photographed both open and closed, with its chain present. Clasp holding strength, hinge security, and chain integrity have not been independently tested. No wrist size or measurements are inferred from the photographs, and it should not be treated as adjustable.

A richly worked wrist relic for a keeper drawn to northern silver and the enduring abundance of a garden caught in metal. Carefully nestled in its treasure coffin, a vault relic from Vaen’kai Vault.
