Rare Vintage Swiss Powder Compact, Embroidered Floral Bouquet, Round Gold-Tone Case, New Old Stock, Sifter and Puff
Description
A garden held in thread, its flowers gathered against a pale ground and framed in warm gold-tone metal.
This vintage Swiss powder compact brings textile texture to the dressing table. Pink and burgundy blooms mingle with orange and blue flowers and green foliage across an embroidered lid panel. The close-ups reveal the small stitches and woven ground, lending the bouquet a depth quite different from painted decoration.
The round case carries a spiral-patterned reverse and a matching hinged inner powder cover. A circular mirror sits inside the lid, and the rim is marked Made in Switzerland. No maker stamp is recorded in the seller’s notes. Vaen’kai Vault considers this example rare, without claiming a production quantity or precise manufacture date.
The Particulars
- Origin: Made in Switzerland, marked inside the case
- Maker: Unidentified; no maker stamp recorded
- Type: Round powder compact with mirror and hinged inner powder cover
- Decoration: Embroidered floral bouquet on a pale woven textile ground

New old stock does not mean untouched by time. The mirror has a conspicuous irregular brown patch consistent with localised reflective-backing deterioration. The metalwork shows fine scratches, small dark spots, rubbing, and localised finish wear around the rim, clasp, and hinge. The supplied pale pink accessory area also shows marks and discolouration in the close-up. Please study these details carefully; the compact is not offered as pristine. Neither the textile fibre nor a hand-stitched production method is claimed.
A floral vanity relic for the keeper who treasures the softness of thread alongside the gleam of old metal. Carefully nestled in its treasure coffin, a vault relic from Vaen’kai Vault.
