Stratton Round Black Enamel Pheasant & Rose Powder Compact, New, Made in England, Original Box
Description
Lifted from the most theatrical corner of the vanity archive, this new Stratton Empress round powder compact is a breathtaking piece of English vanity craftsmanship that transforms the humble powder compact into a miniature work of art.
Against a deep black enamel ground, a magnificent golden pheasant perches amid a garden of pink roses and teal foliage, its plumage rendered in extraordinary polychrome detail — amber, gold, and green feathers catching the light with an almost painterly luminosity. The composition has the quality of a lacquered Japanese screen compressed into the palm of the hand, its Eastern-inspired motif a hallmark of the Stratton Empress range at its most ambitious. The gold-tone case frames the scene with quiet authority. Offered in pristine, unused condition with its original slip and presentation box. Sifter and puff not included.
A tactile, collectible artifact for the appreciator of vintage curiosities and everyday old-world glamour. Part of the Vanity Table Treasures collection.
