Description

White wings rise from deep blue water, a small family sheltered beneath a flowering border.

This vintage Kigu powder compact frames a swan and its cygnets against a rich blue ground. Pink and lilac blossoms, green foliage, and fine ripples surround the birds, lending the square lid the intimacy of a miniature waterside scene. The swan’s lifted wings and curved neck give the decoration movement without disturbing its quiet mood.

The gold-tone case has a textured reverse with a framed geometric border. Inside, a square mirror faces a circular powder compartment. Kigu of London and Made in England marks are visible along the interior. The seller records the compact as used and in great overall condition, supplied with a sifter, puff, and its original box.
