Vintage Sterling Silver Geometric Multi-Band Ring, Dot & Bar Repeat Motif, Sheffield Hallmarked 2010, UK P½ / US 7.75

A study in silver, line and repetition.

Four parallel bands of sterling silver sit side by side across the finger, each one carrying the same repeating motif: a raised dot flanked by vertical bar dividers, running continuously around the full circumference of the ring. Deep oxidation settles into the recesses of the pattern, throwing the polished raised elements into sharp relief and giving the piece its graphic depth.

There is no stone, no colour, no distraction. The metalwork itself is the subject. The result is a ring with a strongly architectural quality, equally at home in a minimal wardrobe or layered against older, more ornate silver pieces where the contrast does the work.

Hallmarked by the Sheffield Assay Office, date letter L, recorded as 2010. A contemporary piece made to the standards of the traditional British hallmarking system.
