Description

White drapery unfurls against muted green, a small classical tableau held within a golden frame.

This vintage Stratton powder compact brings a matte green Wedgwood element into a scalloped gold-tone case. White figures in relief stand out against the quiet ground, their flowing drapery giving the lid the presence of a miniature sculptural scene. The reverse offers a contrasting field of fine linear texture, small repeating motifs, and a Stratton, Made in England mark.

Identified by Vaen’kai Vault as a very rare example, this is a compact for a collector drawn to the meeting of classical ornament and vintage vanity design. No production quantity, precise manufacture date, or identification of the depicted figures is claimed.

The close-ups show pronounced rubbing and loss of the gold-tone finish along the outer scalloped edges and around the green insert, exposing darker areas beneath. These details are part of its condition record; please examine the photographs carefully. It is not offered as pristine.

A classical vanity relic, quiet in colour and rich in detail, chosen for a keeper who sees beauty beyond an untouched surface. Carefully nestled in its treasure coffin, a vault relic from Vaen’kai Vault.
