Vintage Sterling Silver Marcasite & Mother of Pearl Art Deco Shield Ring, US 5.75 / UK L½, Hallmarked, Excellent
Description
Recovered from the most architecturally minded corner of the silver archive, this vintage sterling silver ring is a textbook example of Art Deco jewellery design at its most confident and geometric.
A large kite-shaped mother of pearl centre sits in a silver bezel, its surface a cool, luminous white that shifts with a soft iridescence as the light moves across it. Surrounding the stone, dense pavé marcasite fans outward in a bold wing formation, the pierced gallery work beneath adding depth and shadow to the composition. The contrast between the pale, glowing mother of pearl and the dark, glittering marcasite is quintessentially Art Deco in its drama and precision. The inner band carries full British hallmarks including the lion passant. Offered in excellent vintage condition.
A wearable artifact for the collector of Art Deco jewellery and vintage silver curiosities. Part of the Shadow and Silver Vault collection.
