Rare Vintage Limoges Powder Compact, Deep Blue Courtship Scene, Rectangular Gold-Tone Case, Sifter and Puff

A golden courtship unfolds against deep blue, a miniature theatre framed for the dressing table.

This vintage powder compact presents two figures in period-style dress within a flowering surround. Warm gold-coloured decoration stands against the rich blue lid, with the word Limoges visible near its lower edge. The rectangular gold-tone case gives the scene the presence of a small framed picture, its textured reverse providing a quieter counterpoint.

Inside, a rectangular mirror faces a textured hinged inner powder cover. Beneath that cover sits the powder compartment, with a sifter and puff included according to the seller’s notes. Identified by Vaen’kai Vault as rare, this piece offers pictorial ornament in a more architectural compact format.
