Vintage Gold-Tone Pill Box Set with Enamel Ladybug, Pair of Two, Swedish-Sourced

Two little golden boxes, found in Sweden. One kept beautifully simple. The other claimed by a ladybug.

A charming matched pair of vintage round pill boxes in polished gold-tone metal, both finished with finely engine-turned concentric circles that catch and shift the light. The larger box has a clean, unadorned lid and a warm gold-tone interior with a geometric, faceted finish. Its smaller companion is topped by a tiny red enamel ladybug with black spots, an irresistible detail that gives the pair its character.

The smaller box contains a pale fitted insert, while both pieces have hinged lids and smooth rounded profiles. Their related finishes and proportions make them especially pleasing displayed together on a dressing table, tucked into a handbag, or used for rings and other tiny keepsakes.

No maker's marks or metal marks have been found. The set was sourced in Sweden, but its country of manufacture is unknown. It is therefore described carefully as gold-tone metal rather than gold, gilt, or silver.
