Vintage Stratton Butterfly Powder Compact, Cream Lid, Gold-Tone Finish
Description
A small gathering of butterflies, caught in colour rather than glass.
This vintage Stratton powder compact has a cream-coloured lid illustrated with butterflies among green leaves. One dark butterfly flashes red at the edges of its wings, while smaller butterflies hover above the foliage. The scene is framed by a gold-tone rim; the finely ribbed gold-tone reverse bears the Stratton name. Inside are a mirror and a pale powder compartment.
It has been used and shows age wear, including marks and changes to the gold-tone finish on the reverse and around the fittings. The owner reports no damage. Please look closely at the photographs for the condition of this vintage piece. It is sold as the compact alone, with no original box, puff, sifter, pouch or other accessories; no powder is included.
